Urban Larder on Mill Road

Visitors to Hope Yard (the eclectic collection of stores and workshops off Mill Road) in the last year or so will probably have discovered the delights of Urban Larder, a foodies’ paradise devoted to some of the finest produce the area has to offer. Last month the Urban Larder said goodbye to Hope Yard. Boo! But it said hello to smart new premises just over the road on Mill Road itself. Hooray! This new store (on the site of the old Libra Aries book store) has rapidly become a favourite for many Cambridge folk, as it offers treats such as gloriously fresh breads, soups, and great alternative foodstuffs for vegetarians and those who appreciate organic ingredients. If you’ve been lucky enough to visit the Urban Yard Fairs in recent months in Hope Yard, which showed off some fine produce you can expect similar tastes and smells, with some proposed taster nights coming soon and some fun freebies usually to be had in store. But discover it for yourself – for a modestly sized shop Urban Larder certainly has some big ideas!
