Join us at the brand new Urban Larder shop – 9 Broadway, Mill Road, Cambridge to sample our wonderful locally-sourced goodies, check out our succulent organic meat, pesticide-free organic fruit and vegetables, delicious, locally produced cheeses, jams and chutneys as well as the freshest local free range farm eggs and locally-baked bread kneaded by local people, with heart and soul.
Urban Larder promises to be your one-stop shop! Join the many of us who are turning our backs on supermarkets, and who want to taste and enjoy the huge array of local produce created from scratch by dedicated farmers and foodies who live in the East of England.

We are on the Move !
Urban Larder is on the move ………………………. from it’s humble beginnings in much loved Hope Street Yard , we are now relocating to a much better position on the Broadway , Mill Road, where we can offer a wider and more extensive range of local foods.
Opening on the 16th October from the old Libra Aries Bookshop, Urban Larder will be bringing you all of their regular stockist and lots of new ones.
A large part of the new shop will be dedicated to expanding the range of wonderful freshly baked bread from our very own , local , Dovecote Bakery. Sour doughs, seeded , nuts and fruit loaves, wholemeal, French sticks, croissants, scones, teacakes………….is no end to what this man can bake?
This winter sees the expansion in our soup range too – regular meat or fish, a gluten free and vegetarian choices.. And there ‘s more – come and try our new bread bowls, we We are sure you will love them, for a true winter feast..
We have decided to go down the organic route with our fruit and veg range as there is such a good choice locally . We will also be adding in lots of locally reared beef from Red poll ( Midsummer ) Cattle and an old name returns to Cambridge, The Green Poultry Company, from Wisbech, bringing you more ‘happy meat’ for your Sunday Roast and Christmas tables.
We are extremely happy to be able to continue to stock ‘ Sophie’s Cakes and Savouries’. As her business grows, she has now added in more lunchtime choices and a gluten free bread which can accompany her gluten free soup. Sophie will continue to bake us a weekly treat for the counter and can also take special orders for lactose free and vegan options. New additional gluten free ranges from Glebe Farm, Doves , and Gluten -Freedom.
And there’s more………………………Urban Larder will be hosting ‘taster nights’ where you can come in and try lots of the new ranges , meat , gluten free foods , we will also be making up specialist hampers for Christmas with lots of goodies. Raw Chocolate and Artistry in Cocoa, bring you hand made chocolate, hand made pickles , jams , chutneys , mustards and lots more treats galore.
So spread the word – Local food at it’s best from our surrounding kitchens, orchards , farms and dairies……there is really no excuse to not ……………
